Which SuiteCRM theme add-on should you use?
Pick a SuiteCRM theme add-on by what you need to change. An in-CRM theme editor suits teams that want to keep adjusting colours or give groups different themes. A pre-made theme suits SuiteCRM 7 sites that want a new layout. A theme built from your logo suits exact brand colours on SuiteCRM 7 and 8.
Who wrote this, and how
We make Brandtint, one of the products below, so read this as a vendor's comparison. To keep it fair, every fact about another product is what its vendor states on its SuiteCRM Store page, read on 21 October 2026, and the page says plainly what Brandtint does not do. Prices on the Store change; check the listing before you buy.
Three kinds of SuiteCRM theme
- Theme editors install into SuiteCRM and add an admin screen where you choose colours and save themes. You keep control inside the CRM and can change it any time.
- Pre-made themes are finished designs, usually a set of colour schemes and sometimes a new layout, login page or fonts. You pick from what the vendor drew.
- Themes built from your logo are generated outside SuiteCRM and installed as an ordinary sub-theme package. The colours are worked out from your brand, and changing them means building and installing the package again.

Which one fits what you need
| If you need | Look at |
|---|---|
| Different themes for different teams, or dark mode, on SuiteCRM 8 | MTS SuiteCRM 8 Theme Editor: Brandtint does neither |
| To keep adjusting colours yourself from inside SuiteCRM | A theme editor (MTS Theme Builder on 7, the Theme Editor on 8) |
| A new layout, login page or fonts on SuiteCRM 7 | Redian Pro Theme or a pre-made theme |
| Your exact brand colours, without choosing 66 colours by hand | Brandtint: it reads them from your logo |
| Text that stays readable after rebranding (WCAG AA) | Brandtint checks every pair before it builds; for any other theme, see the pairs to check |
| The same colours on SuiteCRM 7 and SuiteCRM 8 | Brandtint builds both from one project |
| Client CRMs delivered under your own name | Brandtint Studio |
What Brandtint does not do
- No dark mode and no themes per group or per role: one theme for everyone (on SuiteCRM 7 each user can still switch Style in their profile).
- Colours only: no fonts, no layout changes and no new login page design.
- No editor inside SuiteCRM. You change colours in Brandtint and install the new package.
- On SuiteCRM 8 the Angular half needs one folder copied to the server and
php bin/console cache:clear, because Module Loader cannot write toextensions/. The install guide has the steps.
What to check before you buy any theme
- The exact SuiteCRM version range on the listing, against
$suitecrm_versionon your server. - Whether it changes core files. A theme that edits stock files is undone by the next upgrade; see why upgrades undo custom colours.
- How you remove it. In Module Loader, Disable does not switch a theme off; Uninstall does, and a good package restores the theme each user had before.
- Contrast: brand colours on headers and buttons often fail WCAG AA. Check the pairs in the contrast guide.
- On SuiteCRM 8, whether it themes both the Angular screens and the classic views; see SuiteCRM 7 vs 8 theming.

Questions
Where can I buy a SuiteCRM theme?
Theme add-ons are sold on the SuiteCRM Store, store.suitecrm.com, by independent vendors, and some vendors also sell from their own sites. Brandtint sells from brandtint.app, where the theme is built from your logo and can be previewed before you pay.
Is there a dark mode theme for SuiteCRM 8?
Yes. On 21 October 2026 the MTS SuiteCRM 8 Theme Editor on the SuiteCRM Store listed an optional dark mode. SuiteCRM 8 itself has no dark mode setting, and Brandtint does not offer one.
Can I make a SuiteCRM theme myself for free?
Yes, if you can compile SCSS. On SuiteCRM 7 you build a SuiteP sub-theme and install it with Module Loader; on SuiteCRM 8 you also compile the Angular theme and install it as an extension. The sub-theme and SuiteCRM 8 colour guides cover both.
